Good Friday!

Imagine walking down a crowded street with the smell of animals rising in your nostrils, the yells and screams of children, the pushing and shoving of everyone trying to get to the same place at the same time. Sounds a little like Christmas to me. This day though is more important than Christ’s birth, although important. This day makes Christ’s birth more significant. If it wasn’t for this time of the year. Christ’s birth would just be another day, admired by some but mostly forgotten. Today is where the rubber meets the road, if you will. “He was obedient unto death, even death on the cross.” I know that this is somewhat hard to conceive but I always want to get a better grasp on it as best I can. I am glad that as this time is here again we can refresh ourselves in the AMAZING GRACE that truly was poured out for each of us. My prayer is that for you this weekend, if you don’t know the Amazing Love that was given for you, that you come to know it. There was a man who came to this earth, just to die so that you could be His Bride. He endured death, a horrible death so that you could one day be face to face with him. He loved you that much, even before you knew him. I know that even as a Lover of the Savior I need to be reminded of the Simplicity of Christ’s love for me. He died to save my soul. I don’t know anyone else who would love me that much. Especially when I can be unlovely A LOT!!! Just to know that Jesus died while I was still a sinner and that he died before I loved him, that is a MIRACLE! Thank you Jesus for loving us that much! Please help me never to forget the importance of this day! Please let me share it with the world, even if it is just my small world that I have, my sphere of influence. I want to impact peoples lives like God has impacted and changed mine. I want them to know that they aren’t alone and just like the thief on the cross they can experience paradise with God today. Never forget the love and grace that was given to you, over 2000 years ago. Today you don’t have to be hopeless you can have hope in something bigger than you. There is not day like TODAY, no time like the present. Have a GOOD FRIDAY!!!!

Endurance is something I normally associate with sports, but really in the bible endurance is something that is to wait out the storm to wait it out and know that things will change. Waiting for things to change but just sitting back and riding out the storm. I have endured a lot of things but what does that really show about my character? Nothing except that I know how to wait things out sometimes. That I can sit back and ride the wave, or have a bit of patience for things to change. Although endurance is good in sports and beneficial when you need to wait on something, it isn't what defines character. It isn't what makes good stories. Knowing that this season in my life is where it should be is probably easier to accept, than for me to accept the truths of what God Himself has spoken to me about the future. I will tell you that what I am walking through is difficult and hard, but what God has spoken to me is even harder. Not because it will be painful, although I am sure it will be at times, but because of the reality and gravity of what it is. I am in a season of prepping, I believe, in my life for the next season of living out what I know God has said. He has given me direction in many areas of my life and yet I am in this waiting game. Tonight I was reminded that as Jesus had the cross before Him, those hours in the garden right before were necessary. He needed to go and seek the face of His Father. He needed to go further still. 1 Thes. 5:16-18

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thes. 5:16-18 NIV How simple are these three verses and yet we think that there is so much more we need to do, for us to be in God's will. We take them in and let them out so easily. As if God CAN'T want something so simple, He is a BIG God and so He MUST want something BIG. This is a lie. We run around in circles trying to figure out the will of God and yet we can't seem to find it because we are looking in the WRONG direction. We hear God, We MOVE, and then leave God in the dust because He made a turn and we didn't hear him because we didn't STOP and ask. God doesn't change, His plans for us don't change, YET we seem to think that He is the one that changes when we head in the wrong direction. We blame Him for ditching us and not telling us when to move, when REALLY it is us who didn't stop and ask for a new direction....
